I am an Assistant District Attorney in Cabarrus County, and I am running for District Court Judge in the 2022 election. I have prosecuted thousands of cases, all types of cases, including murder, rape, robbery, and child abuse. I am committed to serving Cabarrus County and its citizens, especially those most vulnerable. I believe the law is blind to race, creed, color, gender, and religion; a judge should be the same. My legal and life experiences have equipped me for a judicial role that requires discernment and wisdom.
I graduated from Charlotte Law School with honors in May 2013 and passed the bar exam in July 2013. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNC-Charlotte in December 2005. I taught at Metrolina Christian Academy for 9 years while also going to law school. Before becoming a District Attorney, I practiced civil law, including divorce and family law, property law, elder law, and probate.
I serve on several boards and committees focusing on child protection: The Cabarrus Partnership for Children, Human-Trafficking Taskforce, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and Child Protective Statutory Team. I am also a member of Elevation Church in Concord, NC.
I was born and raised in a modest neighborhood in Charlotte, NC. My mother was a Licensed Practical Nurse, and my father, who was legally blind, rode the city bus to work at a picture framing company.
From being a military wife for 24 years, I know about sacrifices and hard work. While my husband was serving our country through two deployments, I was teaching high school, attending law school, and raising our 3 boys. My sons, now young men, are my greatest blessing.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. I am proud and happy to say I am a Breast Cancer Survivor!
Throughout my life journey, I have overcome many trials through hard-work, perseverance, and God's grace.
